These terms are maintained by the Memory Button team. By creating an account or using the Memory Button app ("Service"), you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA/UK) to use Memory Button. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity on your account.

2. Your content

Everything you save — memories, photos, voice notes, people, reminders — belongs to you. You grant us a limited license to store, process, transmit, and display your content only as needed to operate the Service (including sending it to AI providers for categorization, transcription, and search). We do not claim ownership and we do not sell your content.

3. Acceptable use

Do not use Memory Button to:

Upload content that is illegal, that infringes others' rights, or that depicts minors in a sexual context.
Harass, threaten, defame, or endanger any person.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the Service, or bypass rate limits and security controls.
Use the Service to build a competing AI training dataset.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

4. AI-generated content

The Service uses large language models to categorize, summarize, transcribe, and answer questions about your content. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete. Do not rely on AI output for medical, legal, financial, or other high-stakes decisions. You are responsible for verifying important information.

5. Subscriptions & billing

Memory Button offers a free tier and paid tiers (including "Memory Button Pro"). Paid subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. If you subscribe through the Apple App Store or Google Play, the store handles billing, renewals, and refunds per their terms. Manage or cancel your subscription in your device's subscription settings.

6. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. Deletion is permanent and removes your memories, people, reminders, photos, and voice notes. Backups are purged within 30 days.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted availability. We do not guarantee that AI output is accurate, that reminders will always fire on time, or that data will never be lost — please keep your own backups of anything critical.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $50. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the Memory Button team is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will first be attempted to be resolved informally by emailing us. Nothing in these terms limits any non-waivable statutory rights you may have as a consumer.

11. Apple App Store additional terms

If you obtained Memory Button from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these terms are between you and us, not Apple, and that Apple has no obligation to provide support or handle claims for the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
